Final REMINDER - WRED Budget Re-Vote Information
Posted Date: 06/17/26 (07:30 AM)
NewBrook Families,
TODAY is our THIRD budget vote, and again, I want you to have the latest information. Voting is a personal choice. Please, vote with your mind, and with your heart.
Our timing is becoming problematic. If our budget does not pass, the West River Board will need to09 borrow funds in order to cover the necessities of running our school system. These costs will be significant, and will need to be made up. Rural Vermont schools need to become more efficient and effective, and our board committed to working effectively, and immediately, to further explore our opportunities for change, prior to our next budget season.
As the costs of living and housing in Vermont continue to rise, it becomes more and more difficult for young families to live along the West River. My hope is that state-level agents of change will play nicely with our local agents of change, to bring down the costs of educating fewer and fewer students, while creating inviting opportunities for young families to thrive here in Vermont.
